A Recap of the 13th Annual Infrastructure Week

Together with United for Infrastructure’s Steering Committee, Partnership Network, and organizations around the country, Infrastructure Week 2025, May 12-16, featured events that showcase our nation’s roads, rails, bridges, ports, energy grid, water systems, broadband, and promote dialogue among policymakers, industry leaders, and the public to help shine a light on the importance of prioritizing transformative infrastructure projects in our communities.

Held on May 13, Stronger Infrastructure, Stronger Nation: Innovate, Secure, Compete was the theme of United for Infrastructure’s signature event, hosted along with Steering Committee partner Business Roundtable. A recording of the event is available below.

What’s Next?

Infrastructure Week 2025 served as the unofficial kick-off to Congress writing the next surface transportation and infrastructure law. As we closed out the week, UFI Director Ross van Dongen drafted a letter calling on Congress to provide significant and sustained investment for our nation’s infrastructure sectors, including roads, bridges, broadband, water, energy, and more.

Infrastructure Week Kick-Off Reception


We kicked-off Infrastructure Week on Monday, May 12 with reception at the National Association of Manufacturers’ headquarters in Washington, DC! The invite-only event included a network of cross-sector infrastructure practitioners, stakeholders, and partners, as well as a special guest: Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.

United for Infrastructure Signature Event


On Tuesday, May 13, United for Infrastructure held the signature event of Infrastructure Week: Stronger Nation, Stronger Infrastructure: Innovate, Secure, Compete.

The keynote addresses were delivered by Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, and Loren Smith, Assistant Deputy Secretary of Policy at the U.S. Department of Transportation. The event also included panel discussions that highlighted the need for permitting reform, bipartisanship, energy reliability, infrastructure resiliency, and consistent and significant funding for infrastructure.
