It’s Infrastructure Week 2026

Friends and partners,

For 14 years, people have gathered nationwide for Infrastructure Week to champion the roads, bridges, transit and water systems, ports, electrical grids, and more that power our economy and connect our lives. This year carries the same spirit but with a new sense of urgency.

On the eve of Infrastructure Week, Chairman Sam Graves, Ranking Member Rick Larsen, and House Transportation and Infrastructure Leadership released bill text for the BUILD America 250 Act. In the days ahead, the T&I Committee will formally introduce the legislation and begin a bill markup. With the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act set to expire in September, the window to act is narrow.

This is our moment.

This is why UFI launched the Building a Stronger America campaign earlier this year with stories from local leaders highlighting how federal infrastructure investments strengthen communities of all sizes, grow local economies, and improve quality of life.

At United for Infrastructure, we have rallied our coalition around four priorities that must be at the heart of any new legislation: maintaining robust federal investment in our infrastructure systems; cutting through the permitting delays and bureaucratic red tape that slow projects and drive up costs; securing a long-term solution to the Highway Trust Fund's fiscal future; and investing in resilience and the skilled workforce that builds and maintains it all.

We are pleased to see promising alignment between the BUILD America 250 Act and UFI’s core priorities. Throughout Infrastructure Week, we will dive into the text during panel discussions, work groups, and more. And we will hear directly from Chairman Graves and Ranking Member Larsen during UFI’s signature Infrastructure Week event tomorrow, May 19.

The hard work starts now. We have spent years building the case for infrastructure investment. We have seen what is possible when Congress acts with ambition and resolve. Now, we need to make sure lawmakers hear from you — loudly and clearly — that America cannot afford to go back. We must continue and accelerate the momentum of the last five years of investment in our nation’s infrastructure.

This week, engage. Reach out to your representatives. Share our message. Show up.

Let’s build a stronger America.

In partnership,

Ross van Dongen
